Workshops on Anna Halprin’s work and the reinterpretations of Parades & Changes
Workshops on parades & changes, replay in expansion invite participants to get to know Anna Halprin’s processes and discover Anna Collod’s approach to recreating Halprin’s work. Participants tackle the various challenges of Anna Halprin’s work and the questions inherent to the work of reinterpretation.
The workshops involve a period of awakening focused on finetuning consciousness, accessing movement, and clarifying notions of force, energy, engagement, and presence through exercises and situations combining kinaesthetic, imaginary, and emotional dimensions. The participants go through various improvisation processes and experience daily actions altered by constraints, including some of the tasks performed in parades & changes, replay in expansion. After learning to use a score (a sequential order of activities) as a basis for performance and a tool for individual and collective creativity, they develop their own interpretations and simulation scenarios, based on specific constraints.
